Where things stand with the five-star in the 2023 class

The ranking of the new 2023 class has come to an end and recruitment through visits and camps across the country has reached a fever pitch. Here’s the latest information on each of the five-stars in the class and where their recruitment issues stand:

The battle for the No. 1 spot between Georgia and Texas continues, although Alabama cannot be counted on, despite recent promises from four-star Eli Holstein. Manning will still travel to Tuscaloosa this weekend after being thrown into a 7-on-7 tournament at Baton Rouge. His Georgia tour last weekend could not be better and he will be going to Texas in a few weeks.

At the start of his career, Florida seemed to have outperformed many other schools in its recruitment, but in recent months – and a new coaching staff has preferred him – the Gators must have moved to the top of his list. Florida and Alabama are the favorites here and it looks like there will be a five star cornerback between these two SEC teams who recently moved to Lakeland from Lakeland (Fla.) Lake Gibson.

There is still a lot of liquidity in hiring M’Pember because trips to Notre Dame and Oregon will be important. The feeling is that the Irish are in a very strong shape for the St. Louis locals and Georgia has made him the most interested from the SEC. Those newcomers to Oregon could play a big factor, but in the end it looks like Notre Dame vs. Georgia could be one of the best-looking prospects in the class.

Promised five-star quarterback at USC in late November, shortly after taking over as coach Lincoln Riley Leaving Oklahoma, where Nelson was previously committed. His commitment to rock remains solid and he is setting top goals to join him in class.

Tennessee has grown in a major way for Tate and at this point could be considered a leader if not a co-leader with the state of Ohio. Notre Dame is certainly still a major contender and if Dante Moore moves to the South Bend, it could help Tate, who is originally from Chicago, and has remained a serious player at LSU ever since. In the end, it could all come down to a decision between the Buckeyes and the Vols.

Inis Steve Clarkson returned to Los Angeles last weekend for a QB retreat and loved it there so USC remained a major contender in his recruitment, especially since he was committed to the Lincoln Rally in Oklahoma. But the only hold-up of his family head around the distance from South Florida. Ohio State is another major player at the moment and he loves position coaches Brian Hartline And development in Columbus. The Alabama tour last weekend went well and others will be involved but it could eventually be USC or Ohio State.

There is little clarity on Harbor’s appointment and any predictions right now will be a guess. A possibility to stay at home in Maryland. USC, Michigan, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Penn State and everyone else are prioritizing him as he is such a crazy athlete and track star. It seems too early to know what Harbor is going to do or where his recruitment is going.

Long Beach (Calif.) Polly’s new quarterback is scheduled for the end of March in Tennessee and has returned to Knoxville frequently since then. Five-star receiver Kernel Tate and high four-star OL Francis Mauigoa are two of the main targets he has been knee-deep in recruiting for the Vols.

The longer Moore’s appointment, the more interesting it will be. Notre Dame is still in a very strong position to land the Detroit Martin Luther King standout, but LSU is now seriously pressing and its previous relationship with the coach Brian Kelly Doesn’t hurt. Oregon inspections have made things a bit more ambiguous, and then Texas A&M is now in the ballroom. It still looks like the Irish or the Tigers where Notre Dame has little edge.

There has been speculation over the past few months that Shanahan, who is originally from the Orlando area but now plays for Austin (Texas) Westlake, will be clearly ahead of the Longhorns and Aegis somewhere in the state of Texas. The feeling was that Texas was on the edge of A&M. But LSU is building a race on him and national recruitment analyst Nick Harris has just left a futurecast for Georgia from Shanahan, a school that has been hiring him for years. Shanahan says he is leaning towards playing in the SEC so a fight is being created.

With Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Texas being the three front runners, not much has changed significantly for Hill and it looks like Aegis has the edge here. Head coach with new coaching staff Brent Venebles Being a defensive-centric coach can change Hill’s thinking, but losing Agis can be difficult.

*****

Another Texas-sized battle is being prepared for Hicks, who is not officially down but Texas A&M and Oklahoma are also fighting for it. The former Allen, Texas standout has moved to Katie (Texas) Peto for her senior season which means she is now much closer to college station but how important it can be is insignificant. The Aggies have signed a historic 2022 recruiting class along the defensive line but Hicks doesn’t seem to be upset even though he likes every tour Norman takes.

Tacoma (Wash.) Lincoln Five-Star Defensive & Georgia has been intrigued by SEC programs since its inception, followed by Alabama and LSU in a very mixed mix. As well as talking to the coach, his recent tour of Oregon also piqued his interest Dan LanningDefensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi And others where they see him fit and it’s much closer to home. They will be serious reasons – SEC vs. Pacific Northwest – as Wayne comes close to a decision. A tour of the state of Michigan over the weekend was good because the five-star coach really liked it Mail money And his staff. Miami can’t be counted either.

Five official visits are expected for the five-star offensive lineman for the Arkansas State, Alabama, Penn State, Oregon and Michigan Pleasant Hill (Iowa) Southeast Polk standouts, but this could be a slight deviation from the school that could lead. His appointment: Iowa. The Hawkeyes have long been involved with Proctor, they have just signed his five-star high school teammate Javier Nawankpa and they could still be the team to beat.

*****

Oregon, Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Penn State, Ohio State, Miami and Michigan State are the top nine for Okunola but from there it became a guess because the new five-star offensive tackle doesn’t talk much about his appointment. . The Braintree (Mass.) Thai academy star will be in East Lansing this weekend and the Spartans could be a tidy pick as he likes the coaching staff a lot but it’s still hard to know. Okunlola has a feeling that the North likes the team.

*****

Texas A&M Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Is in a very strong position for a new five-star receiver from Stranahan, battling the states of Pitt, Georgia, Alabama and Florida. Pitt’s official visit (where he has a great relationship with the position coach) Tikuan Underwood) And Georgia is coming and another informal one at the college station will happen soon. Summer decision is not expected.

*****

On Christmas Eve, Bishop Gorman’s new five-star receiver in Las Vegas is more committed to the Trojans than to many other national programs. She locked in and signed her brother, Zion, to the 2022 recruitment class at USC.

Despite the aggressive push by Alabama, Florida and other programs, Kylie stands by her promise to Notre Dame that she made almost a year ago – last June 28th.

Texas has cut for A&M, Texas, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon and Alabama toviano, but Georgia and Texas are still very involved, but the Aegis seems to be fine. Things could be more interesting when it comes to recruiting Toviano, especially with state schools, but if there’s one need to pick today, it’s Texas A&M.
