MANILA, Philippines – Li Yingying and Gong Jiangyu led China to their fifth victory in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) by beating Canada 25-16, 18-25, 25-12, 25-18 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday.
Lee unloaded 20 points from 17 assists and three assists, with Gong leading by 15 points as China, ranked No. 3 in the world, won the fifth of six matches to tie the United States at No. 2 in the Quiz City Leg of the World Championships. .
China and the United States will face each other for second place on Saturday evening.
