MANILA, Philippines – UAAP Season 84 women’s volleyball at the University of the Philippines’ Mall of Asia Arena on Thursday broke the two-game rate skid after losing to Far Eastern University, 25-10, 25-19, 25-7.
The Fighting Maroons got the much-needed win to fight for the final four, reaching a record 5-6. But to do that, they have to sweep the remaining three matches of the season.
Marian Sotomill was in charge of distributing the ball for UP, scoring four and tossing 18 great sets. Alyssa Bartolano led the Lady Maroons with 14 points.
Down and out, Lady Tamaraws fell even more at 1-10 to absorb their eighth defeat.
The FEU hinted at a fight as they advanced 18-17 in the second set. But it was like a hiccup for UP which took the lead again 19-18 in FEU error and never looked back.
The Fighting Maroons quickly impose their will, out-attacking their Lady Tamraus at 17-6, in the starting frame and since then climbing that trend.
