Manila, Philippine-East University finally won its first victory by defeating Far Eastern University, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21, in the UAAP Season 84 Women’s Volleyball Mall of Asia Arena on Thursday.

It was the Lady Warriors’ first win in 16 games – including three in the canceled season 62 – which would boost the team’s morale after a massive overhaul in the long pre-season.

Ercae Darabella Nieva took some scoring work from UE top gunman Janeca Janine Lana, scoring 21 points for the best performance of her career. Lana finished with 21 markers, including a match-clinching hit.

Lady Tamraus lost their 11th straight and tied the Lady Warriors 1-13 to end the season.
