MANILA, Philippines: Adamson returned to the winning column in the UAAP Season 84 Women’s Volleyball Tournament on Thursday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pace City, defeating Winless University of the East 25-23, 25-20, 25-18.
Lauren Toring has 10 attacks and 14 points in four blocks, a big improvement from her one-point list on Tuesday, with the Lady Falcons advancing to the second round with a 4-3 record.
“I just told them we had to accept the loss at UST. It has taught each of us a lot. We tried to correct all our mistakes during that game, “said Adamson head coach Larma Giron, referring to his team’s five-set loss in the Filipino on Tuesday.
“I just wanted to get back from my last game where I couldn’t contribute,” Torring said in Filipino.
The Lady Falcons came back from a 19-22 deficit in the first period thanks to a 6-2 lead by Turing’s quick kill.
Mary Ann Nick had the highest score for Adamson with 15 points, including four blocks, and Riza Cruz had 10 points.
Ja Lana dropped 16 points and Dara Niva registered 14 points for the Lady Red Warriors, who trailed 0-7.
