MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines took a big push to secure a second appearance in the AFC Asian Cup on Tuesday.
With the chance to qualify for next year’s continental conference, the Philippines nowadays have a 4-0 win over Palestine in Group B at the MFF Stadium in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
In the 31st and 42nd minutes of the first half, Saleh Chihadeh and Tamer Siam scored two goals for Palestine respectively.
In the 82nd minute, Mahmud Abu Warda kept the match out of reach and in the 55th minute, Mohammad Yamin increased the suffering of the people with a header.
The win took Palestine, 2-0 up in their group, to their third consecutive Asian Cup.
Nowadays they had a thrilling 1-0 win over Mongolia on Saturday courtesy of Gerrit Holtman but could not ride their pace against Palestine.
With the loss, the nowadays are stuck with four points after a goalless draw against Yemen in their third round opening match on Wednesday.
