MANILA, Philippines – For Thai player Ajcaraporn Congiot, the Philippine women’s volleyball team should not stop challenging themselves and should not be trained to improve all their skills to take the program to greater heights.
Congiot helped Thailand beat the Philippines 25-13, 25-10, 25-16 in an international friendly at the San Juan Arena on Saturday.
As a player in a program that has won 13 editions of the Southeast Asian Games and played in the World Championships, Thai outside Heather says Filipino players just have to keep working hard.
“Philippine players need to practice to improve at a high level in each skill (a). Just try to be more challenging for yourself, ”said Congiot, who played a little and finished with eight points.
Congiot faced the Philippines for the second time in his career. Although they rarely sweat, he said his team still learned from the game and praised the home squad for being a good game.
“The Philippine players have tried their best to improve themselves and they are very nice (people),” he said. “It’s a good game for the Philippines because Thailand has played the Philippines many times and (it helps us) to improve themselves in volleyball and also for the Philippines.”
Congolese also thanked Filipino fans at the venue for cheering them on.
“We like the fans in the Philippines and we know how they support us,” he said.
And he looks forward to supporting Filipino fans in their Week 2 of the Volleyball Nations League, which starts on Tuesday against Canada.
“For Canada, the Thai team will give us the best. We will give our best from the first game to our last game, ”said Congiot.
In VNL Week 1 in Turkey, Thailand has won three of its first four games, beating world No. 2 China.
