British cruiserweight Richard Riakporeh scored a stunning victory over Fabio Turchi in the IBF Eliminator, landed a left hook body shot to deck the Italian in the second round and moved closer to the World Cup winning shot.

A winning Turk was able to get back on his feet, but a member of his team entered the ring with a towel in hand to stop the competition.

Ryakporhe, 32, defended his unbeaten record with the 15th win of his career on Saturday, ending 11 of those wins.

“I feel very good, I didn’t have much time to get into it,” said Riyakpore. “I landed a good shot and I am building the reputation that I am now a body snatcher.

“There were some points I was trying to notice, my coach was amazing. We had a game plan, keep it long, but look for opportunities and when you can punish, do it and I did just that.

“I keep telling everyone, I’m a fighter. I’ve fought four in nine months and want to go out again (later this year). We are taking responsibility, all these champions are running in fear. ”

Riyakporah’s victory brings him even closer to a fight with IBF cruiserweight holder Myris Bridis, if the Latvians are able to beat Opataya in July.

In the undercard, Olympic champion Lauren Price defeated Valgardur Goodstand in her professional debut.

Price of Wales, who won the middleweight gold in Tokyo last year, won all six rounds of the bout.

“I wanted to relax while I was there. I didn’t want to rush my job and a great six rounds under my belt and go again, ”Price told Sky Sports.

“You have to put more hands up (in professional boxing), be a little more careful, but I enjoyed it. A ring is a ring, isn’t it? “
