MANILA, Philippines — SJ Belenzel is the latest Filipino basketball star to take his acting career abroad.

Belenzel is, of course, the first Filipino to qualify for the Korean Basketball League.

According to the Korean website Never Sports on Monday, Belenzel Daegu Kogas has agreed to a deal with Pegasus.

According to the report, Belenzel also received offers from other leagues.

The 22-year-old guard has won two UAAP championships with Atenio Blue Eagles.

His decision to play in the KBL forgets his final two-year qualification with Atenio at UAAP.

In addition to padding her belongings with the Blue Eagles, Belenzel Glass has made a good account of herself in her career with Pilipinus.

Belenzel was a big revelation for Glass during last year’s FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers.

His steady play helped the Philippines pull a six-game sweep of the tournament, including a pair of wins against rival South Korea – the first of which was courtesy of Triple Market in Belengel.

The new KBL season will start in October.
