MANILA, Philippines – Rubilan Amit won the silver medal by defeating Juan Wang Bui 7-4 in the women’s 9-ball pool singles semifinal at the 31st Southeast Asian Games at Ha Dong Gymnasium in Vietnam.
In this event, defending champion Amit is arguing for his fifth 9-ball single gold medal.
Filipino bet Jeffrey Rodao slipped one win away from gold after clipping Malaysia’s Kin Hu Moh 5-4 in the men’s snooker 6-red singles semifinal.
Overall, it was a good day for Filipino cue artists with legendary Efren “Bata” Reyes, similarly, winning the men’s one-cushion carom by defeating Surya Suannasingh of Thailand 65-58.
This victory confirmed the bronze medal of the favorite Reyes of the spectators.
Like Reyes, Francisco della Cruz also sealed a place on the podium in the men’s 1-cushion carom singles semifinal with a win over Sompol Saitang, Thailand.
