MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine women’s beach volleyball team regained victory on Wednesday at the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam’s Tuan Chou Beach, expressing their anger against Vietnam.
Less than 24 hours ago, as they licked their wounds after their heartbreaking defeat to silver-medal-winning Indonesia, CC players Rondina and Bernadette Ponce lost to home players Vu Engok Lan Nguyen and Nguyen Le Thi Tung Vic 21-16, 21-12.
Jovlin Gonzaga and Diz Rodriguez defeated Trung Duong Mai Huen and Nguyen Thi Than Trump 21-13, 22-20 in a hard-fought second set fight.
The women’s beach volleyball team has improved to a 3-1 record after losing a gold match between Randina and Ponce to Indonesia on Tuesday.
Ponce and Rondina and Gonzaga and Rodriguez will end their singles round robin match against defending champions Thailand at 3:45 pm (Manila time) on Thursday.
