Philippe Juico Patafar has resigned as president

MANILA, Philippines – Philippe Ella Juico has resigned as president of the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATFA).

Zuiko resigned during a Patafa board meeting at the Makati Diamond Residence on Saturday.

“PATAFA will always adhere to its core values ​​of honesty, integrity, competence and sincerity, the same values ​​that are essential for all PATAFA athletes, coaches and other stakeholders,” Juico said in a statement.

“I’m not leaving PATAFA or the sports community, because that’s where my heart is, but for now, I’m looking forward to more family time and the opportunity to focus on personal and business interests and initiatives and community support.”

Juico Patafar will be part of the board as Emeritus chairman is elected.

Businessman-athlete Agapito d. Capistrano, former Patafa executive vice president and secretary general, said after the Paris Olympics. Zuiko’s term was tapped by the Patafa board to take on the remaining term until November 2024.

Zuiko replaced Go Teng Kok in 2014 under Patafar.

Prior to his resignation, Juico Pole became embroiled in a feud with vault star EJ Obina over allegations of liquidation submitted to the Athletics Federation, which has been resolved.
