PH wrestlers have won four more medals to finish the SEA Games

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine wrestling team finished its 31st Southeast Asian Games on Thursday with three silver and one bronze medal at the Gia Lam Gymnasium in Vietnam.

Ronil Tubog lost 0-2 to Vietnam’s Tat du Can as he finished with a silver medal in the men’s freestyle 64kg final.

In the men’s freestyle 65kg, Johnny Morte won the silver medal at hometown by beating Juan Din Nguyen.

Alvin Lobreguito also scored in the 57kg category for a runner-up finish in a 10-0 win over Baunthien Kommalaxa of Laos.

Meanwhile, Jason Balabal won his second bronze in the SEA Games, losing to Cambodia’s Sari Mo, 0-10 in the 97kg final round.

He won his first bronze medal in the men’s Greco-Roman 97kg event last Tuesday.

The Philippine wrestling team finished its campaign on Wednesday with seven silver and five bronze medals, including four medals, three silver and one bronze, in the women’s category.
