MANILA, Philippines — The head coach of Barangay Ginebra has no confirmation that Jean Kings found a hidden gem in Jason David in the May 15 PBA rookie draft.

David, who qualified for Lyceum Pirates in college before playing for Ginebra’s 3 × 3 team, was selected as the 20th overall pick by the Kings in the second round.

“We just jumped on him. I’m really high on it. We knew him well from 3 × 3. Trainer Kirk (Collier) talked a lot about him, “said Shanku, according to the PBA website.

“He plays in many different positions, point guard, off guard, three positions. I’m also excited about Jason, “added Shanku. I think the secret of that kind of draft is going to be stolen. We are happy with him. “

David made a good account of himself during his work with Genebra in the 3 × 3 competition.

In addition to David, Xavi Gomez de Liano is ranked eighth overall in the Geneva Draft. Gomez de Liano, however, the kings then traded to Terafirma Deep for the second overall pick Jeremiah Gray.
