PBA: MVP candidate Scottie Thompson says the ‘main goal’ is to get another title

Manila, Philippines – At the top of personal pride, Scotty Thompson, one of the top nominees for the PBA Most Valuable Player Award, is making sure he doesn’t miss important things.

“Of course I’m glad to be one of the candidates,” Thompson, the Geneva Guard at Do-It-All Barracks, said during PBA Media Day on Thursday.

“But the main goal is always the team and the All-Filipino win [trophy]Thompson said he averaged 12.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 10 games in the last Philippine Cup.

The Barangay Geneva Coach team is thrilled with Thompson’s shot at the highest individual award in any league.

“I think it will help her confidence,” said Shanku. “So I hope he gets it.”

“In this moment of his development, I still feel that he has a lot more to do and he is still growing up,” Shanku added.

Thompson is facing stiff opposition from TNT star Mickey Williams, who led the Tropang Giger Championship to the Philippine Cup last season.
