MANILA, Philippines – Don Trollano hit a pull-up jumper with 2.2 ticks left, NLEX TNT, 90-89, and helped the Road Warriors get back on track in the PBA Philippine Cup on Thursday night at the Yanares Center in Antipolo City.
Entering the final quarter and dropping eight, the NLX returned to Kevin Alas before finding Tralono in the Road Warriors final that the club had gone 2-1.
“We hope to be scouts because the coach (Jojo Lastimosa) is already with Hem. So what we’ve tried to do in practice is to do things differently. It worked for us, “said coach Yong Guiyo in a press release after the game.
Alas spikes 16 points with seven rebounds and six assists, trailing Calvin Oftana’s 20 and JR Quinnahan’s 18, who were instrumental in nibbling on the 12-point deficit.
Trolano, for his part, was injured with 11 points and six boards.
Jason Castro saw one last look to save the game for the TNT but his triple was a bit stronger due to a back iron injury.
Trapang Giga thus slipped to 2-2.
