MANILA, Philippines: Andre Paras has retired from the PBA after just one season with Blackwater.

Pars, in a letter, announced his decision on Thursday, just days before the team’s debut in the 2022 Philippine Cup.

“I would like to inform you that my official retirement as a player from professional basketball to blackwater bassing will be effective immediately,” Pars said.

“I want to thank you for all the great opportunities you have given me at Blackwater. I enjoy working with the team and management and I am ready to move on to the next phase of my life and continue my acting career. “

Pars, son of two-time PBA MVP Benji, was elected 27th overall by Blackwater in the 2020 draft.

The 26-year-old has played 19 games for Blackwater last season, averaging 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds.

After his rookie season, Andre Paras took a leave of absence from Blackwater before officially calling it a profession.

Bossing, who won just one game last season, will play TNT Tropang Giga at the Yanares Center in Antipolo on Thursday.
