MANILA, Philippines – Stephen Loman wants Bibiano Fernandez next as he continues to bid for his world title in the One Championship.
Loman also believes that he has understood everything about how to beat a Brazilian star when he is seen down the street.
“It simply came to our notice then. Striking, wrestling, can be on the ground. That’s all aspects of MMA, “said Loman.
That’s what John Lineker did three months ago when he knocked out Fernandez for claiming the Bantamweight title.
According to Loman, the loss, however, does not change the fact that Fernandez remains a force in this division.
“He is still the champion Bibiano we know. He still has that striking and wrestling skill, great control over his opponents on the ground and submission techniques. He didn’t rust at all, “said Loman.
Loman has risen to third place in the bantamweight rankings after a pair of impressive wins in his first two bouts.
Team Lake could be a fight or two away from challenging for the star world title. To get his shot, however, the clash began with Fernandez, the number one contestant in the belt.
