MANILA, Philippines – Danny King’s first fight in three years to give Reese McLaren another shot ended in a close.
McLaren called King after Australia won the ONE 158 against Xie Wei in the first round, and Tim Lake is not the type of fighter to fall behind in any challenge.
“I don’t think he believes we lost the first fight, that’s why he wants a match again. Knowing Tim Lake and knowing ourselves, we are not lagging behind anyone. I’m ready if we fight each other again. Give me a date and a place, “said King, a fourth-ranked flyweight competitor.
Kingdale has won 13 of his first 14 fights, including a split decision against McLaren in August 2019.
But he lost two of his last three bouts to Demetrius Johnson and Kairat Akhmetov.
However, as a result of the rate, the 26-year-old King has become a better fighter.
“My defeat against Kairat has taught me a lot. I have seen a lot of areas after my last match that I have to work on, ”he said.
“You could say I would fight Reese, if a championship could happen, it’s a kind of redemption match for me, but the most important thing is to answer Reese’s call-out.”
