MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines has so far failed to qualify for next year’s AFC Asian Cup.
The Philippines are currently second in Group B but have not been able to cut through just four points in three matches.
A 4-0 loss to Palestine on Tuesday sealed the fate of the duo as it plugged their bids for a second direct appearance at the continental summit.
Palestine secured a place in the Asian Cup with a 3-0 win at the top of Group B.
Jordan, Uzbekistan, India, Bahrain and Tajikistan are at the top of their respective groups.
Group runners-up Kyrgyzstan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong also got tickets to the Asian Cup.
