As more Filipinos embrace a healthier lifestyle, it’s just a fun competition that captures the imagination of people around the world.
In Manila, the Assic Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series leg will include a street party, a sightseeing tour and a running event starting Sunday.
During the virtual launch on Friday, Sunrise Events Inc. Princess Galura said, “Let’s just enjoy the course and the music and not get too serious about the race.”
There will be DJs, band music playing on the race route through the Manila Heritage sites, even health precautions will be taken and security measures will be put in place to ensure the safety of everyone.
There will be four sections, the 42-kilometer, 21K, 10K and 5K races going through Rizal Park, Intramuros, the National Museum and City Hall.
“We saw the development of Manila at the beginning of Mayor Isco Moreno Domagoso’s administration and decided that this was the best place to stage the event,” said Galura.
He said the meeting has been in the pipeline since 2019 but was postponed due to the epidemic.
“We made a point to make it safe because this is the first race during and after the epidemic,” Galura said.
