The Utah Jazz plan to interview former Los Angeles Lakers coach Frank Vogel for their main coaching vacancy, ESPN reported Wednesday.

Vogel has joined a growing list of candidates to replace Queen Snyder, which includes former Portland Trail Blazer head coach Terry Stots, Boston Celtics assistant Joe Mazulla and Will Hardy, Milwaukee box assistant Charles Lee, New York Knicks Mercury Queen and jazz assistants Alex Jensen and Lamar Skeeter.

Vogel, who turned 49 earlier this month, was fired by the Lakers in April after missing the playoffs with a 33-49 record in 2021-22.

Vogel finished 127-98 in three seasons and led the Lakers to their 17th NBA Championship in 2019-20.

Overall, Vogel is 431-369 as the head coach of the Indiana pacer, Orlando Magic and Lakers.

Speaking at a news conference Monday for Snyder, who resigned on Sunday, Jazz owner Ryan Smith said: “We’re going to take our time with the coaching inquiry. We have to fix it. “

Snyder, 55, resigned after eight seasons with a 372-264 record. He has enjoyed six seasons in a row with a winning percentage above .580 and is second in terms of wins for the franchise after Hall of Famer Jerry Sloan (1,127).
