Nadal wins third set in Paris quarter-finals to give Djokovic a 2-1 lead

PARIS – Rafa Nadal broke world number one Novak Djokovic’s serve twice on Tuesday in the third set of their French Open quarter-final with a 6-2 victory and a 2-1 lead.

Reigning champion Djokovic of Serbia won the second set 6-4 with a double breakdown and 3-0, after Nadal won the opening set 6-2, with a duration of three hours.

The Spaniard has won 13 of his record 21 Grand Slam titles on red soil in Paris and the winner of the Court Philippe Chatterjee competition will face third-seeded German Alexander Zaverev for a place in Sunday’s final.
