Despite repeatedly telling WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury to hang his gloves, Anthony Joshua is in talks to face the winner of the rematch against Alexander Yusik, the Daily Mail reported.

Fury slammed fellow British Dillian White in front of a crowd at Wembley Stadium in April to retain his heavyweight crown, telling fans he would not fight again later.

His wife, Paris, later told BT Sport that she would only return to fight for the title.

Yusik lost to Joshua at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September last year, capturing the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO belts.

Joshua promoter Eddie Horn told the BBC that Joshua had signed his contract to fight Usik in a rematch in Saudi Arabia in August, with an official announcement expected next week.

The fighting has been delayed several times since the U.S. invaded Ukraine to join a regional defense battalion following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, in what Moscow calls a “special military operation.”

“(Joshua) understands that in this battle of enormity, things take time. It took time but we are in a great place. He’s training across, including Alexander Yusik, ”Horn said Saturday.
