Naoya Inoue promised to get Naito Donier out and he wasted no time in fulfilling his promise.

In stark contrast to their 2019 slogfest, Inoue finished the Donner in two rounds to add the World Boxing Council’s Bantamweight title to his collection before the hometown crowd at Saitama Super Arena in Japan on Tuesday night.

Inoue (23-0, 20KOs) quickly aligned Donier with his right hand just before the end of the first round, and jumped “The Filipino Flash” again to close the rematch of their integration in the second round. The official stoppage time was 1:24.

The 29-year-old Ino easily defended his World Boxing Association (Super) and International Boxing Federation belts and now wants to be an undisputed champion before going up to 122 pounds. Paul Butler retains the Bantamweight crown of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) after defeating Filipino Jonas Sultan last April.

Butler rose from interim to full champion when he snatched the full title from WBO John Real Casimero last month.

Nordin O’Balley in the fourth round knockout and his last two bouts in his first fight against his fellow Filipino Remart Gaballo have been on the verge of a resurgence since losing to Inoy in a close unanimous decision. INQ
