MANILA, Philippines – Glass Philippinas Youth contributed from top to bottom as they steamrolled Kuwait 82-45 at the FIBA ​​U16 Asian Championships on Tuesday morning at the Al-Gharafa Sports Club Multi-Purpose Hall in Doha, Qatar.

Filipino-Canadian Zain Mahmoud led all scorers with 16 points, but it was Jared Baha’i who set the tone for the youngsters.

Baha’i did most of its damage in the opening quarter where Giles zoomed a commanding 25-9 lead. He finished with 12 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals.

Jacob Bella and Christian Porter each added 10 points for Giles, who will then play Japan at 8:45 a.m. Both the Philippines and Japan are 1-0 in Group C.

Giles’ defense was in the queue with 17 steals and forced 29 turnovers which turned into 28 points.

Kuwait was also limited to 30 percent shooting from the field.
