MANILA, Philippines – Calloway Ulo has finished her 9th Senior Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championship in historic fashion in Doha, Qatar, with three gold and one silver medal.
The 22-year-old gymnast won two gold medals in the vault and parallel bars for wrapping the continental tilt at the Aspire Dome on Saturday.
Silver medalists Shiga Tachibana of Japan and Hansol Kim of Korea finished third in the men’s yulo with a score of 14,800.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympians also won gold in the parallel bar event, scoring 15,167 points to beat Japan’s Suyoshi Hasagawa and China’s Yin Dehang, both of whom scored 14,700.
Yulo claimed his first gold after stamping his class at the men’s floor practice on Friday.
He also won silver in the men’s all-round event on Thursday.
After a historic Asian Championship, Ulo is ready to compete in the Artistic World Championships in Liverpool from 29 October to 6 November.
Last month, Hanoi, Vietnam, brought home five gold medals from the 31st Southeast Asian Games.
