MANILA, Philippines অ Alex Eller’s tumultuous race at W60 Madrid came to a halt on Sunday.
After reaching the title round of the open ITF Arcadis Brazzo Osuna, Ila failed to find her form and lost 4-6, 5-7 to hometown Marina Basols Ribeira in the women’s singles final.
Ila overtook one selected player after another on her way to the final before her match with the more experienced Ribeira.
In contrast to the walls, 17-year-old Ila was in a great position to force a decision after leading 5-0 in the second set.
Ila, however, could not hold back Ribera as the 22-year-old Spaniard went to a tumultuous rally to win the 60,000 tournament.
Harty refrains from claiming the area could be his third pro title.
